she's so awesome. i swear we would be good friends if we ever met. hahaha...i hope that doesn't sound creepy. anyway, her blog is amazing, and she always looks so put-together and cute and practical.

what are your must-have pieces for [here i'll insert summer, ha]?
i'm really into the 1940s right now, so anything that would go along the lines of that theme.

if you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
athens, greece. fo sho. i miss that city so much.

which language do you want to learn?
i want to (at least sort of) perfect my spanish, i want to learn french, and i want to learn arabic. whew.

what are your favorite quotes?
no idea, really...i always try to remember quotes i am inspired by or whatevz, but i never do.

what is your favorite piece of clothing in your closet?
either these amazing brown shorts that i bought last year and wear constantly, or a high-waisted mini skirt; it's one of the most flattering things i own.

what is your dream job?

elementary music teacher in nyc, maybe. hehe.

oh my, i dunno...i'm such a bad fashion blogger haha, but really...i can't name them off.

favorite designer?

this is also really hard. they change from day to day. 3.1 Philip Lim today.

what do you consider a fashion faux pas?

the belief that you should stay away from risky colors or shapes. i find that people can pull of any color or shape of clothing or makeup and make it look great, if it's designed well. taking risks is one of the most fun things about fashion. this is what really annoys me about my city-none of the women take risks, therefore they all look the same. the men tend to look the same as well, but i see way more risk-taking men than women here.

describe your personal style?

this will take some major thought, haha. what i wear depends on the day-what i've been inspired by, if i have a particular item i want to wear, or the weather. i'm pretty sure it's impossible for me to follow trends-even if i try, the outcome is completely different. so i can't really put myself into any particular style genre, as my taste varies greatly (just look at my last inspiration post!). one thing i'm constant about, though, is that i love dressing up. no matter what, if i'm in heels and a dress, i'm comfortable.

what's the most expensive item you've ever purchased?

i believe it would be a $150 dress. i adore it.

what can you never leave the house without?

my phone, my eye makeup (thanks beth), and a smile. hehehehe. but it's true...i can't leave the house without being a little happy.

an award? for me? you've got to be kidding.

but this is no joke. i am just such a wonderful blogger, huh. (even though i haven't posted a good post in a really, really long time, and i keep forgetting to comment peeps back and etc, etc)

i was granted the lemonade award by brooke!! she is a lovely blogger in australia who, despite only having had a blog since january (i think?), is already attracting many readers and 10+ comments per post, which she definitely deserves. she has great style, and i'm honored to receive this award. 

so apparently, this award is for blogs with "attitude and gratitude". eh, cheesy and i'm not sure what that exactly tells me (also, how does lemonade have attitude and gratitude?), but i'm very very glad! 

i'm now supposed to tag 10 bloggers...i read about 23987437 blogs, but a whole lot of them are big and intimidating and would never reply to my giving them an award, so i don't know who to pick yet...and i need to start/finish my paper..so...yeah. next time, eh?

i drag a  lot of inspiration into my iphoto, and inspiration is what this picture is. from the one and only sartorialist, a picture he took in florence. i just love it because it looks noir and it's just really beautiful all around.

in another news....

the weather has been so weird lately. it'll be 70 one day, 80 the next, and then 40 the next day. i don't get it. and it confuses my body warmth haha. i'll walk outside and it'll be freezing, even though i know by noon it will be hot. so i'm cold then hot then cold then hot then cold again.

also, we went to the matthew and the arrogant sea show last night. except we didn't stay long enough to actually see matthew and the arrogant sea. haha. i'm not ready to stay up till 2 while everyone around me is getting drunker/more stoned by the minute. anyway, the first band was great, which made up for the fact that we couldn't see the rest.

i just realized that i'm awful at making lists. i can't remember aaanything. ah, god, i'm blind, deaf, and  ADD. 

sorry for the lack of nice posting lately. i've been in a.....weird...mood. i'll get back to normal soon, i promise. at least after the devotchka concert two weeks from now. I AM SO EXCITED.

so. i was tagged by ginny to do a survey. which is perfect, because i am quite tired and i don't feel like doing anything that i should be doing (i.e., getting ready for my show tonight, helping my mother get ready for a baby shower she's hosting, sleeping). so here we go, i decided to do all of them (see the above statement):

-i love interior design, but i don't know if i'd ever want to go into it (me mum's an interior designer). having a pretty room and decorating it is fine with me.

-i am absolutely in love with zach condon.

-i dream of living in brooklyn (or anywhere in nyc), or san francisco.

-i play piano, drums, and accordion. though i'm not that great at accordion haha. and i cannot play guitar. seriously. i'm so awful at it.

-i have the same birthday as vincent van gogh.

this is me and my bro in athens, greece, last summer. the building behind us is some academy or something. it was hot. like, 40 degrees celsius.

six things that make me happy:

-jews. this has already been explained.

-pretty calendars. every year, i pick out a new calendar. i have an old new york one right now and it's lovely.

-my cork board of inspiration, memories, and ticket stubs.

-petits fours and cupcakes.. mmmm. i love love love them. 'nuff said.

-really great songs. (nantes, talk show host, unattainable, for example)

-well-dressed old ladies and men.

10 honest things about myself (who needs myspace surveys when you can get tagged, huh!):

-i am constantly worrying about studying so i can get good grades so i can get into a good university so i can live in a beautiful city.

-there will be no belonging more beautiful to me than my 12" baby grand piano. it's 100 years old and even though it's perpetually out of tune, it always sounds great.

-i probs will only ever buy mac computers. i can't work pc's....and i'm biased.

-i hardly eat breakfast. i know i know, it's the most important meal of the day and all, but coffee fills me up and i CANNOT stop drinking it.

-i'm tired all the time. of course, this is credited to my lovely hypothyroidism, but yep, that's just another thing about me.

-i have an insane amount of money. this is because i don't ever spend it. i have a debit card but never take money out and i only spend it on the occasional piece of clothing or record and a chai tea latte.

-i have bad posture.

-i only have 2 pairs of pants.

-i'm not fond of mainstream music. this IS NOT because i think whatever most people listen to is automatically bad, but because there aren't many good mainstream bands that i know of. if there comes along a band that sounds amazing and yet everyone loves them, i will still like them. it has nothing to do with "selling out" (which i think is stupid) or that stereotyped hipster trait.

-i am so lazy when it comes to making my bed.
