inspiration

found on qin at the disco, and the clothes horse, via vanessa jackman.
i love that editorial...these two pictures are my favorite. the huge eyelashes and golden hair and 60s feel is just so lovely. perfect for fall, even though it was probably meant for spring. and once it gets cool enough to wear tights and a cardigan, i am definitely going to copy the last girl's outfit.

i've been listening to plastiscines' newest album while i run (it's great to run to), and i've been reminded about how sexy/adorable they are. i saw them back in june with patrick wolf and i think it's safe to say that the entire venue fell in love with the girls. they also have nice style; the wear a lot of leopard and leather...i love it.
de google.

why is it that parisian girls have that mysterious ability to make everything look chic and sexy? they can wear the simplest of pieces, and somehow it still looks effortlessly beautiful. here are some examples of characteristically sexy parisienne girls:

from vanessa jackman and the sart.
see? they're able to wear strange combinations or maybe even slightly awkward pieces extremely well. i try to emulate these girls' looks, but i end up failing...miserably. still, they inspire me to no end. i just don't know what it is that makes them look so perfect!

French girls do have great style...but I think city girls in general tend to dress well.

I think I want to be that girl with the poofy blonde hair from the Vanessa Jackman photo. I think I have to start checking out that website more often.

The fur coat is awesome!

I think French women in general are taught to dress well, and they seem to dress for their figures more than maybe american or british women do.

I love the 3rd girls hair, how come some people can pull off the messy, rolled-out-of-bed look so well?! Unfair.

Parisiennes make me want to cry. Especially the ladies featured here. Too gorgeous.

And hey, a fellow Patrick Wolf fan. Good stuff.

I really want to go to Paris to soak up all the beauty and see if Parisien girls really all do look so wonderful! I really love the Sarts photo of the girl in the grey drapey dress...her hairs all parted and hiding her face, but the way she is squinting at the camera makes her look so cool!

i love gloves (refering to first few pics! i wish they would come back more into style. they're freaking fantastic.

i love the plastiscines' style. i loved their first album. and b/c i like you and i won't lie, i really don't like their new album. it really steers away from the raw underground tunes they had before. now, they're overly studio produced. i don't know--- that's just me :)

and guess what? the word verification was peter! an actual name! how cool?! (sorry, easily amused)

Let me tell you that most of these pics were done outside the fashion shows, so they're not the typical Parisian girl. Anyway, they look great.

I don't want to sound stubborn, but I've been to Paris four times in my entire life and I've never seen anyone dress as original as those girls. Parisians tend to be very safe with their fashion choices.
